In Canada, summer is now coming to an end. Soon it will be off to school (Sept. 3rd) much to my dismay. Nobody like homework and waking up early! Since I am somewhat a loner (haha) I've been sitting at home with nothing to do! So why not film a little video for all the wonderful people out there? I have to do my makeup anyways. It was quite fun filming and editing! This post is just a more in depth view of the products I use.
Most days I go for a very natural look and take it back to basics. I like the "fresh face" look, but my skin is on the oilier side. Lets get started shall we!
I always start off with a good primer, I don't notice a big difference with this Makeupforever HD ($39) one, but I have to use it up! I try not to waste things. Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation ($44) is amazing! I think it is my favourite foundation of all time. Most foundations break me out, but this feels really nice on my skin. It has build-able coverage and leaves a a nice dewy finish. I'm in love. I love my Real Techniques Buffing Brush ($18 for the brush set) to apply this...but I have the urge to splurge on a Mac Stippling brush. My friend recommended it so let me know if i should give it a try! I also use Real Techniques Contour Brush ($18 for the brush set) to blend the foundation around my nose and under eye concealer, it works really well for that! I forgot to put my concealer in the picture (oops) but I use L'Oreal Visible Lift Cream Concealer ($7). It is very brightening and I like it under the eyes, but not so much for pimples. It's coverage is mediocre. I set everything with my Stay Matte Powder from Rimmel ($6), I love this powder! I know it gets raved about all the time, but I am on the band wagon. I dust this all over my face with my big fluffy EcoTools brush. Top off with some Mac Blush in Dainty ($25), and my face is finished! Priming your lids is a must for eyeshadow so I use, surprise surprise, UD Primer Potion ($24). Now onto the eyeshadow...
For the full tutorial on how I do my eyeshadow, I will link the video below. These two eyeshadow palette's are my favourites of the 2013! UD Naked 2 ($60) has so many beautiful shades, and Stila In The Know ($51) has gorgeous and flattering matte shades. I actually picked this up because of Estee from Essiebutton, so thank you Estee! I use the fluffier side of this dual brush from Sephora for all my shadows. I don't particularly like dual ended brushes, I find them annoying. This brush was on sale at Sephora though, and temptation won. Can we please get excited about this Diorshow Mascara ($31)?! I got this for my birthday (which was in late July) from my friend Meghan. Thank you Meghan! This mascara looks beautiful and works beautifully too. My favourite Eyelash curler is from Tarte ($21) and I highly recommend it! Finally, I finish with my brows, who doesn't love Anastasia Brow Wiz ($27)? The clear brow gel is only a sample size, but I love it so I know I will be getting the full size.
So that is a little more in depth look at my everyday makeup routine. Watch my youtube video if you want to see how I apply everything, if you can put up with my silliness! Who doesn't go into karaoke mode when applying their makeup? Beyonce just gets me every time. Hope you enjoyed! What do you think of these products? I would love to know your opinion!
